What is the best diet for weight loss?

After experimenting with most dieting strategies on the market over the years, I started to understand why the majority of diets are unsustainable. In order for something to be sustainable, it has to be realistic and have the potential to be incorporated into our lifestyle. Everyone is so different and no cookie-cutter program or dreadful meal plan will work long-term when it comes to food and nutrition.

How can I Get defined abs?

I would love to say that “x amount of crunches and planks will give you abs” but that’s just not true. I’m sure you’ve heard “abs are made in the kitchen,” and while this holds truth that our diet is the biggest contributing factor, there are other things to consider. Women tend to hold more body fat than men due to our biology make-up and hormone differences. It’s not as easy and maintainable to have chiseled abs and that is more than okay. However, don’t be discouraged. We can get amazing toned stomachs with regular exercise and a healthy diet.

How do I know how many calories I should consume?

There is no one answer for this question as everyone is so unique and has individual needs. Depending on your goals this will also vary. Are you trying to build muscle? Lose body fat? Do a body recomposition?

What foods should I avoid when Trying to lose weight?

There are actually no certain foods that make you fat nor are there certain foods that make you slim. It’s being in an overall calorie deficit that will lose body fat but that does NOT mean that the quality of your foods do not matter. They are very very important for overall health.

I’m eating so little calories and still not losing weight. whats wrong?

There is actually such a thing as under eating which can cause a lot of metabolic damage. Your body will go into “survival mode” and actually hold onto fat reserves incase of an emergency since you are not getting enough calories. This is why a slow and gradual deficit with the help of a professional in order to adapt your metabolism is crucial.

What if I hate going to the gym but want to get fit?

You don’t just have to workout by going to the gym! Find an activity that you enjoy and that will make it a lot more likely that you will actually do the workout. Do you like hiking, cycling, running, swimming, zumba classes, yoga etc.? I’m sure you can find an outlet you enjoy while achieving your health goals!
